BOSKALIS TO BUILD QUAY WALLS AND JETTY IN PORT OF ROTTERDAM
Royal Boskalis Westminster (Boskalis) in a consortium with Van Hattum en Blankevoort (Royal VolkerWessels) and TBI subsidiary Mobilis has been awarded a contract by the Port of Rotterdam Authority to build quay walls and a jetty, as well as to execute related activities for the construction of a new tank terminal in the port of Rotterdam.
The contract is valued at more than $120m, with Boskalis’ share amounting to $40.3m. The project will commence in early 2018 and is expected to be completed at the end of 2019.
HES International is building a new storage terminal for oil products in the port of Rotterdam. To be able to accommodate both large oil tankers and inland vessels, Boskalis and its partners will construct a 1,200-metre long quay wall for seagoing vessels, a 1,100-metre long quay wall for inland vessels, a 350-metre long jetty with four berths as well as riverbank and soil protection. The project is driven by the growth in global trade and energy consumption
